Conferences and Lectures
Lectures, symposia, discussions with artists and scholars, and the consideration of projected films are ideally united in the Film Museum's "Invisible Cinema". It has become a much requested venue for film and art historical conferences and discussion programmes.
Since 2002 many of the most renowned film and cultural scholars have given lectures or presented projects; among them Thom Andersen, Wolfgang Beilenhoff, Raymond Bellour, Alain Bergala, Nicole Brenez, Christine N. Brinckmann, Elisabeth Bronfen, Kevin Brownlow, Elisabeth Büttner, Paolo Cherchi Usai, Joan Copjec, Aleksandr Derjabin, Diedrich Diederichsen, Edward Dimendberg, Thomas Elsaesser, Helmut Färber, Robert Gitt, Vinzenz Hediger, Ute Holl, Hermann Kappelhoff, Nico de Klerk, Eric de Kuyper, Antonia Lant, John MacKay, Judith Mayne, Laura Mulvey, James Naremore, Enno Patalas, Ramón Reichert, Drehli Robnik, Jonathan Rosenbaum, Heide Schlüpmann, Janet Staiger, Max Tessier, Klaus Theweleit, Yuri Tsivian, Maureen Turim and many more.
Almost all lectures, conferences and Q&As with artists taking place at the Film Museum are being video-recorded and can be accessed in the video library on DVD. The online gallery In Person: Video Documents presents an expanding selection of these video recordings made over a period of five decades.
