Vera
Tizza Covi and Rainer Frimmel (AUT 2022)
Tizza Covi and Rainer Frimmel's semi-documentary feature films focus with much tenderness and humanism on people between authenticity and self-representation, between everyday poetry and the hardships of survival. This remains true of their newest film Vera. In the film industry, actress Vera Gemma is judged based on the beauty and fame of her father. This influences how she develops her own sense of beauty, deals with her father's overpowering figure and develops a close relationship to a family from a completely different social milieu. Vera is a film that allows one to take a second, third or fourth glance at the figures, to get to know their contradictions and to revise hasty judgments.
The screening (115 min) will be followed by a discussion with directors Tizza Covi and Rainer Frimmel.
